I've been writing erotica for about five years but with a long gap between my first books (the Whore Wife sixpack and Black Owned White Girl) and my more recent efforts. I've joined a fantastic subreddit group and learned so much from those generous and knowledgable writers, but there's one thing I haven't figured out.
What gender my readers are, male or female.
I've come to realize it doesn't really matter but I can't help but wonder. The accepted wisdom in the subreddit group is that most women read romance while men read erotica, but I've seen several comments from writers who post with enormous credibility that most erotica readers are women.
So, there's that.
As I said, it doesn't matter to me as long as I keep attracting an ever-wider audience and scratching my creative itch. It's been a wonderful process, thanks to all of you.
Whomever you are.
Best,
Lena
